Culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies: Theoretical underpinnings, practical value and implications for teacher education

Today I received a copy of the book titled Migrant youth, schooling and identity. Perspectives and experiences from Northern Europe. The book is a part of Springer book series Young People and Learning Processes in School and Everyday Life.

I have contributed a chapter that bridges the gap between theory and practice by synthesising findings from contemporary research to explore the impact of culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies on the identity formation of young people in the globalised world. Furthermore, the chapter aspires to guide readers through the intricate landscape of multicultural education by furnishing them with a nuanced understanding of theories related to culturally relevant and responsive pedagogies, as well as the shift towards practices emphasising cultural sustainability in educational environments.

The book is available for purchase on Springer website in both hardcover and Ebook formats. It is also accessible for free through various academic institutions and libraries.
